Ken Hillier the curator of Ashby Museum was a guest on the Morning Show. Ken has a wealth of local knowledge and was able to entertain listeners with many points of historical interest concerning Ashby and the surrounding villages. Ken reminded everyone of the story of Ivanhoe and how Ashby had maximised the commercial value of the name. Alister and Ken had a long discussion about the former spa baths adjacent to the Royal Hotel . The museum which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year has seen a significant increase in audited visitors in 2007 due mainly to the work of its intrepid volunteers and a sizeable National Lottery Grant.
